Litha, the Summer Solstice is a time of celebration of the sun's peak, the Sun Lord at full power! This celebration is of the Goddess' DOMNU and the LADY of the LAKE. Both watery Goddess' as DOMNU is the Mother of the Oceans. This aspect of Ana is extremely powerful as Her Lord and if you imagine the Ocean waves you can perceive Her power! It is to Her that tribes living alongside the Ocean pray. Known by many names across the world such as Yemaya in Africa this Goddess has been revered throughout the ages of ,mankind.
Here in Britain there were a tribe of people many moons ago who worshipped Her (Domnu) in great reverence. This tribe, the ancient Irish Fomoire, one of the spiritual ancestry of Britain, revered the Ocean as the giver of Life. They were magical creatures and were the Mer-people and lived in harmony with the Ocean and Domnu. Domnu was born of Chaos and Old-Night, two of the original manifestations of the Lord and Lady's predecessors. Essential and powerful manifestations of the Universe' creation!
For more information on the spiritual ancestry of Britain please see the book by Kathy Jones entitled "Spinning the Wheel of Ana".

Litha Ritual
Always goto watery places at this time of year to truly appreciate the Goddess' energy. As Domnu we find her at the ocean's edge and at the Lakeside we find her as Lady of the Lake.
By making offerings to the waters we can honour these two aspects of the Goddess. The offerings can be flowers or floating candles or homemade paper boats (decorated with designs to honour Litha)
Making prayers as we watch these float away to the Goddess for fruitful harvests and fertility, for prosperity and health, for fun and mirth, for happiness and peace.
ENJOY!
Blessed Be.
